This session will focus on when and how to talk to construction workers about behavioral health. Learn techniques to break stigma around mental health and to create psychologically safe and mentally healthy workplace cultures. We will highlight specific opportunities to talk to construction workers about mental wellbeing, substance use disorders, opioid risk reduction, and suicide prevention.

Emphasis will be on how to encourage employees to access an Employee Assistance Program, use crisis hotlines, or tap into community-based non-profit and social service organizations. In addition, we will include an overview of the LEARN Saves Lives® model for engaging workers in discussion around suicide prevention.
